Our First Blog Post!

For those who have heard of us and those who haven’t, it is my honor to welcome you to the Wine Vault Napa Valley Blog! My name is Luke Floyd, and I am the manager of this fine establishment! We are a family-owned wine warehouse located just off of Trancas on California Boulevard. We specialize in collector/library pallet wine storage and commercial pallet wine storage solutions. We are a lean team of four with over 30 collective years of storage experience who work daily to perfect our craft.

We wanted to start this blog to reach existing and future clients, share details about new services and share insights we’ve learned while storing a wide variety of wines from around the Napa Valley. We hold a unique and oft-forgotten spot in the wine industry. While most think of viticulture or tasting rooms, wine storage is an essential aspect of the wine-making supply chain! You may be thinking, “of course, wine needs to be stored, but that’s easy and boring.” Now, no sane person would say that storing wine is more fun than drinking it, but wine storage is far from easy. If we put aside the space required and the laundry list of chemicals, weather, and lights (yes, really) that can turn good wine bad in short order, wine storage still requires us to safely and accurately track stack and ship a fragile product that collectively weighs thousands of pounds and is worth thousands of dollars!

In future blogs, we aim to show the best wine storage practices, what to look for in a wine warehouse, and other tips for securely storing wine. We also store wine for a diverse group of talented winemakers from around Napa Valley! With any luck, we hope to share their stories as well.

We sincerely thank you for expressing interest in who we are, what we are doing, and where we are going from all of us here at Wine Vault Napa Valley. Thank you for reading our first entry!

- Luke Floyd
